Where Overdrive wins

Why teams pick Engage over Outreach.

The handful of things that genuinely matter — based on what customers say after the switch.

01

Salesforce is the system of record, not a sync target

Engage is a managed package — campaigns, replies, sentiment, and bounces all sit on the standard Contact and Opportunity layouts. No middleware, no Outreach-side data shadow, no 'who has the source of truth' problem.

02

Roughly a third the per-seat cost

£49/seat covers the full Engage product including AI personalisation, all four AI Opportunity finders, and unlimited campaigns. Outreach's typical starting commit is $130+ per user per month, often with add-on charges for the AI and analytics features.

03

No seat minimum, no enterprise commit

Outreach typically requires 10–25 seat minimums and annual commit. Engage has no seat minimum, billed monthly, no setup fee. Start with one consultant, add seats as you grow.

04

AI personalisation included, not an add-on

Engage uses Claude to write personalised intros from your actual CRM data — placement history, role context, your own notes — included in the base £49 price. Outreach Kaia is a separate per-seat charge.

Where Outreach wins

When Outreach is the right call.

Honesty isn't a tactic. If one of these is core to your team, Outreach is the more complete tool today — and we'd rather you know that before the demo.

Multi-channel cadence (call + email + SMS + LinkedIn)

Outreach has built-in dialer steps, SMS, and LinkedIn task automation inside the same cadence — a deeper multi-channel stack out-of-the-box. Engage is email-first today, so teams typically pair it with the dialer they already use.

Manager coaching depth (Outreach Insights)

Outreach Insights ships extensive coaching analytics, deal forecasting, and Kaia-based call analysis. Teams with a dedicated sales-ops function may find that breadth useful alongside their cadence tool.

Established G2 / Gartner footprint

Outreach has a longer track record, hundreds of native integrations, and a Gartner Magic Quadrant position. For procurement teams that score heavily on analyst recognition, that's part of the calculus.

FAQ

Questions buyers ask.

The things teams switching from Outreach ask us most often.

01Can Engage handle the volume Outreach does?

Yes. Engage sends from each rep's own real mailbox with intelligent throttling and automatic warm-up — sending volume scales up as your domain reputation builds, and most teams comfortably operate at the same daily volume they're used to. Real-mailbox sending also gives you better deliverability than shared marketing IPs because you're using your own domain reputation.

02Does Engage have a dialer like Outreach Voice?

Engage is email-first today. We surface call tasks on the Contact record so the workflow stays in Salesforce, and most teams pair Engage with the dialer they already use rather than consolidate everything into one tool.

03Can I migrate my Outreach sequences into Engage?

We don't have an automated migrator, but the sequence structures map cleanly — most teams rebuild their top 3-5 cadences in Engage in about an hour during the onboarding call. We can help.

04What about deliverability — does sending from Gmail/Outlook hurt me vs Outreach's SMTP?

Usually the opposite. Sending from each rep's own real mailbox uses their existing domain reputation rather than a shared marketing IP — for cold outreach, real-mailbox deliverability typically beats shared-pool SMTP.

05We're already on Outreach. Why would we move?

Three reasons most teams cite: (1) the motion is mostly email and you're paying for multi-channel features you don't use day-to-day, (2) you want outreach inside Salesforce rather than as a parallel platform that syncs back, (3) the per-seat cost gap (roughly a third of Outreach's typical commit) frees up real budget. The switch typically pays for itself inside a quarter on (3) alone.
